Brilliant, consuming,
it shows no mercy,
vicious and searing,
paths irrevocably altered
by it’s touch.
Powerful, radiant,
its appetite unsatiated,
singeing and devouring,
sacred to behold,
catastrophic.
Cleansing, necessary,
new growth begins to blossom,
from burnt back layers,
stripped naked,
from what no longer serves.
Dancing, mesmerising,
ancient, it beckons,
performing at altars,
flickering on a million candles,
wild, yet contained.
Into our fires we must step,
detoxing our souls,
so that phoenix-like we can emerge,
radically rebirthed,
our new journey begins.
